That a large majority of RuneScape players don't take them

This is not a criticism, but this is not a suggestion, this isn't a question, which is a philosophical opinion. Please read the entire text, and OSRS gold should you feel the need to disprove me or show support, by all means do. Please do not attempt to act smart, that is not the point of this. When responding, I need YOUR view on the topic. Don't read what other individuals have put, simply put what you think.

Do Mutes Work? Welcome to Part One of my series of problems with this community. I will produce a few of these threads for you to discuss the idea displayed and to have your own view on it. In this episode, I talk about the punishment system of the game, and the flaws it has. The next time, I'll discuss the game's market, and how people can change it. Let us start off; what is a mute? Well, a mute is your punishment given to a person if they have broken up a rule to a extent that action must be removed. Let us bring out the important word there; punishment.

Punishments are given all of the time, for a massive array of explanations. The most common of these are censor evasion, advertising and discussing inappropriate things. Why are the granted? They're supposedly given to stop someone creating another event of rule-breaking within the community; and to give the player time to think over their actions, and weather they'll do it again. Do they have this desirable result? No.

The problem with muting is that a big majority of players don't take them in the right way. Many players will instantly start whining, ranting and planning revenge on the individual who had initially reported them for their actions, if the individual has come forward truthfully. I will explain this in more detail later on, there's another difficulty; Quickchat. Quickchat was made with two motives in mind. The first being to help individuals display set messages quicker, and the second to allow people that are muted to convey normally. Many people do not realise that people that are muted have as much freedom of speech as someone who isn't. Yes, they can't explain complex matters, but they could still speak normally and fluently, and cause chaos.

The machine Quickchat was made with allows a set sequence of important strokes to say a particular phrase. There's nothing stopping someone using these sequences repeatedly and flooding the chat window with words that are pointless. They are muted, and they can still spam. The reason that they misuse this system isn't neccessarily that it is there to abuse, they do it because they're in a position that they don't want to be in, since in their opinion, someone has reported them to get a matter that they think is fine, even if it is serious. What they want to do so is cause as much chaos as possible as a revenge to this person, and if they do capture unmuted, the first thing they do is confront the person who reported themif they understand, or only fire. This doesn't apply to Old School RS Gold everyone, but I have discovered a sizable percentage.
